Awenydd: "Gun Fight" by Boy Eats Drum Machine

Real quick - I just heard this song on Pandora and had to find it - here's tonight's Awenydd. I've dedicated the night to reading, so I won't write much about the song or the band. That just means you'll have to do some research yourself. That is, if you even listen to it AND like it. I personally love this song each time I hear it.

Awenydd: "Skinnybone" by Sea of Bees

While editing our most recent batch of photos one night not too long ago, I listened to the album "Songs for the Ravens" by Sea of Bees, an album I came to possess thanks to a favorable review by NPR's All Songs Considered crew. I very quickly fell in love with the song "Skinnybone" and have since been listening to it on repeat several times as I am like to do. Normally, I listen to Pandora to whittle away the time, or I watch movies on Netflix. But circumstances being what they were, I was forced to listen to what music I had on hand. Painfully tragic, I know, but at least it resulted in my familiarization with this one particular album, one which I would recommend to you all.

Awenydd: "You Are the Blood" by The Castanets

In celebration of the fact that The Castanets will be here in Salt Lake (at Kilby Court) on March 24th, tonight's Awenydd will be a personal favorite off their 2004 album "Cathedral."

Also, check out this cover by Sufjan Stevens (more than twice as long as the original!).

Awenydd: "Futile Devices" by Sufjan Stevens

Eric has assigned me the task tonight of posting an Awenydd. And though I have posted Sufjan Stevens' latest album before, I am going to post him again. But this time, I have a very specific song in mind. I haven't been able to stop listening to this particular song for days now, and just so you all know, it's awesome on repeat. So awesome in fact that you barely notice when the song ends and starts again...

Yeah, I really have listened to it on repeat several times now...
