These are the posts from our old page AwenBlog.com and Eric's old blog Snyder Cider.
Anything posted from 2010 to 2008 is an AwenBlog.com post and anything posted from 2006 to 2001 is a Snyder Cider post.
(BEWARE!!! ADOLESCENT ANGST/TYPOS/GRAMMAR AND SPELLING VIOLATIONS ABOUND! A lot of the old stuff is kind of embarrassing and really doesn't reflect the people we have become. We have grown up a great deal over the years. These posts are really here just for fun/archival purposes.)

I could watch this for hours.

This site, designed to look like an old rabbit-ears set playing old Betamax tapes, shows clip after Youtube clip of Christmas specials, commercials and holiday-themed episodes of television shows, all circa 20-25 years ago. Adjust the rabbit ears to get that perfect "grainy" look.

Old junk
Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 8:26AM
I was over at my sister's last night and we all got to talking about how long we have been on the internet and playing around on archive.org to find all our old junk.
I was able to find things from about 10 years ago. Back then we did not have "blogs". We had "E/N" sites. Its odd to think that I have been "blogging" in one form or another for 10 years.
Anyhoo... I found some old crappy Flash animations I did years ago when trying to learn how to use Flash. And they are crappy... but here are some anyway...

The Interweb Cyber Space Laser Net

Also known as "Da Web"
Freakin' internet. Bringing people together while simultaneously pulling them apart. Too often I find myself saying "just need to check my e-mail, then Ill go to sleep" or "let me check my RSS feeds real quick before we eat" or "I am undoubtedly doing damage to my blatter right now, but I really really want to watch the rest of this stupid Youtube video". I know you say those things too.
I love the Internet for many reasons, but at times I just want to wipe it from the planet.
Remember the days when certain information was hard to come by? And possessing such information felt special and gratifying?
I like the thought that I was among the select few who know Scanner Frequencies and D'ni Language and Latin Swear Words because I went to the trouble of seeking out the information. Going to the library, reading, writing letters, and so on.
Now all you have to do is Google it and the worlds mysteries are at your fingertips. And while very convenient, it takes the mystery and magic out of the world in a way. There are far too few unknowns, far too few things that could reach beyond imagination because they have all been well documented and put out there for you to easily find.
Well, now that the bitching is out of my system, let me say that I do indeed love the internet and make use of its grand resorces and love having them.
Alas, sometimes, I wish for a little bit of the old days. When knowing something was worth a little more.
